Northern catalpa's inflorescence is a pyramidal panicle with 10-30 flowers. Individual flowers are large (~2" across) and trumpet-shaped with two lobes, bright white with purple lines leading towards the corolla's center; two yellow-orange spots are present on the lower lateral edges of the corolla's opening. Two fertile and three sterile stamens, and a single, white style with a bifurcated stigma are present.
